Rachel Ruysch at the MFA, Boston

One of my favorite artists, Rachel Ruysch, is currently on view at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in Rachel Ruysch: Artist, Naturalist, and Pioneer — the first solo exhibition in the U.S. devoted to her work. The show brings together 35 of her stunning still-life paintings from the 17th century alongside botanical and insect specimens from Harvard’s natural history collections, as well as works by other trailblazing women artists.

Ruysch’s paintings explore the delicate balance between life and decay, beauty and impermanence, all painted in photographic detail. The exhibition runs through December 1, 2025. I can’t wait to see it in person, definitely one to check out if you’re in Boston.
