Ousel Falls
This fall I visited a gorgeous trail in Big Sky, Montana called Ousel Falls. It’s one of my new favorite spots for a photo walk, a chance to slow down and soak in all the textures around me: pine needles, moss, clusters of snowberries, and golden leaves. It had just rained when I started walking, and everything was glowing with tiny drops.
The trail gets its name from the ousel, or American Dipper, a little bird that lives by the stream and dives straight into the current. The setting is absolutely stunning, and the 1.5-mile hike feels short but so refreshing! I snapped a few photos for my next wallpaper collection and left feeling completely recharged.
Something about it reminded me of Siberia, perhaps it was the scent of pine after the rain or the hush of the forest. It’s definitely a place I’d love to come back to for inspiration and a nature immersive getaway.
